Program HH is a state health care program for people living with HIV/AIDS. The program is funded by a combination of monies received from the federal and state governments, and money received through rebates from drug companies. The program covers the entire state of Minnesota.
Depending on your eligibility, Program HH can pay for medication, health insurance, some dental services, some mental health services, nutritional supplements, medication adherence counseling and case management.
Eligibility is determined based on a person's income, assets and residency. If you are interested in being on the program, fill out the Ryan White New Applicant/Information Change online form and provide the supporting information requested in the application. That information will be screened to determine if you meet the guidelines. Program HH is the payer of last resort.
This means if you are eligible for benefits on any other Minnesota Health Care Program, you must first access benefits through that program. Program HH may direct you to enroll in other programs. It also means if you have access to insurance through your employer you must sign up for it. Program HH may still be able to help with some expenses, but you must always access any other benefits you are eligible for.
Yes, a person can have other coverage, such as insurance or be on other Minnesota Health Care programs, and also have Program HH coverage. In some instances Program HH can help with expenses that might not be covered through your other coverage or supplement benefits. If you have specific questions, call Program HH Customer Care at 651-431-2398 and see how Program HH might be able to help you.
Program HH takes your privacy very seriously and complies with all statutes and regulations pertaining to information privacy. Our mailings do not mention HIV/AIDS on the outside of the envelope. Our staff will also not leave messages on your voice mail unless you indicate it is safe to do so.
Every person enrolled on Program HH receives an eight-digit Minnesota Health Care Program number with the letter telling them they have been approved for the program. This is the number you will present whenever you need services. If you are already enrolled on another Minnesota Health Care program, the number will be the same as the one you already have.
Whether you are at the pharmacy, dentist or mental health provider, give them your number and let them know you are a member of a Minnesota Health Care Program. If you have any questions regarding your benefits, call Program HH Customer Care at 651-431-2398.
