SQC established a set of guiding principles necessary to participate in the council. The principles will help the council reach project goals. Each participant's role is valued and necessary. The principles to participate in the meetings:
- Participants always assume good intentions.
- Participants bring their perspectives and leave their biases at the door.
- Participants identify problems and offer suggestions for solutions.
- Participants listen and consider diverse perspectives and needs.
