Minnesota offers Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Minnesota Family Investment Program, General Assistance and Minnesota Supplemental Aid benefits loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. This card can be used at approved stores, markets, online retailers and with direct marketing farmers.

Protect your EBT card

There has been a rise in EBT card benefit theft in Minnesota and across the United States. Protect your card by keeping your PIN private, changing your PIN often and never giving your EBT card number or PIN info over phone or text. See the frequently asked questions list below for more tips on how to protect your card.

Minnesota Department of Human Services will never ask for your PIN or EBT card number by text.
