Community presentations and events
DHS hosts a variety of community meetings where information and resources are shared. DHS encourages providers, caregivers and caseworkers to attend to learn more about the EIDBI Benefit and discuss access to autism services throughout the state.
To learn about upcoming meetings and news visit the Minnesota Autism Resource Portal and events calendar, or the Minnesota Autism Resource Portal Facebook page.
If you need an accommodation or language assistance to participate in these meetings, email the DHS autism team as soon as possible and specify the type of accommodation needed.

Meeting roles and expectations
At meetings of the advisory group, we will share information, answer questions, tackle issues, as well as provide and receive feedback about the EIDBI benefit.
In the meeting, DHS asks all participants (members and non-members) to:
- Treat everyone with respect
- Assume good intentions
- Bring our perspectives, not our biases
- Take into consideration diverse perspectives and needs
- Engage in conduct that demonstrates professionalism
Refer to the Minnesota Management and Budget document, Respectful Workplace Policy (PDF).
Observer roles:
- Listen and observe
- To ask questions, write them down for the advisory group to review for future meetings and discussions.
Advisory group member roles:
- Attend bi-monthly meetings
- Complete assignments on time
- Participate constructively in discussions
- Collaborate in seeking solutions that meet the needs of all parties
Advisory group agenda submission form
DHS encourages members of the advisory group to use the DHS-3807-ENG form (PDF) to submit suggested agenda topics. DHS recommends that you submit your request at least 30 days before the next scheduled advisory group meeting so we can review and prioritize your topic. Either use the submission button at the bottom of the form or email your completed form to asd.dhs@state.mn.us. Not all comments and questions submitted will be addressed at the meeting. Agenda items submitted fewer than 30 days in advance of the next meeting will be addressed at the following meeting. In addition, questions or comments that DHS determines are more appropriate to follow up with individually, will receive a response from the ASD e-mail address.
