Desk audit/review

DHS required providers to submit supporting documentation with the provider attestation form for each setting in which they provide HCBS waiver services. DHS plans to conducted initial desk audit reviews of supporting documentation for all settings through June 2018.

What providers can expect

If a desk audit reviewer believes a provider attestation has insufficient evidence to show compliance with the HCBS rule, DHS will email providers a site-specific compliance plan. Providers will have 30 days from the first contact to make changes to comply.
