Participant employer option
People who use direct support services have the option to employ their direct support workers. We refer to this as a participant employer option because the person using the option is both:
- A participant in a direct support services program
- The employer of his or her workers.
You may use the participant employer option if you use the following services:
- Personal care assistance (PCA) Choice
- Community First Services and Supports (CFSS)
- Consumer directed community supports (CDCS)
- Consumer Support Grant (CSG)
If you are enrolled in the Minnesota Restricted Recipient Program (MRRP), you may not choose a participant employer option. You must use a provider agency to receive direct support services, such as personal care assistance.
