EVV compliance FAQ

• There will be no hard edits or denials of claims at this time.

There is no change in how providers bill. Providers should continue to use their existing billing process.

A good faith effort means that a provider is engaging with their EVV system.

For technical questions or issues, providers should contact HHAeXchange via the HHAX Client Support Portal.

Yes, live-in caregivers are expected to use the EVV system to clock in/out at least once per workday. Review the live-in caregiver policy for more information.

No. Safe at home participants (both members and caregivers) must not use EVV at this time.

Yes, compliance requirements are the same regardless of payer.

Edited or adjusted shifts are not EVV compliant. DHS understands that manual edits and adjustments will occur. Providers and caregivers should work to limit manual edits as much as possible.
