Rachel Grimes

Rachel Grimes is director of the Department of Human Services’ Business Integration Division in Children and Family Services. Under her leadership, the Business Integration Division works to improve, streamline and modernize systems used by Children and Family Services. “We strive to ensure that all human services are person-centered, accessible and equitable for the people we serve,” she says.

 

One of the best parts of her job, Grimes says, is the opportunity to make meaningful connections that help to advance the department’s mission. “I like building relationships with people across DHS as well as with some of our partners,” she says. “It’s important and exciting to find common ground and encourage partners to share innovative ideas about how to improve human services for Minnesotans.”

 

Grimes has been in her role since 2019. Prior to joining the department, she worked as a business manager for Crow Wing County.

 

Grimes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Tufts University and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
