Jeff Jorgenson

Jorgenson leads program simplification, systems modernization work

Jeff Jorgenson spent over two decades promoting the well-being of children and families as an expert in the field of child support, but it was his work in systems modernization that landed Jorgenson his most recent leadership role.
 
Jorgenson is the director of the Business Integration Division in Children and Family Services for the Minnesota Department of Human Services. He oversees the division, providing strategic direction, leadership and support toward the development of programs and initiatives that are integral to advancing the department’s integrated service delivery. Through program simplification and systems modernization, he hopes to achieve a more seamless human services for Minnesotans.
 
A native of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Jorgenson joined the department’s Child Support Division in 1996. Jorgenson served in a variety of roles during his career in the Child Support Division, and in 2013, he was promoted to division director. He started his career as a child support officer in Anoka County. 
 
Since 2015, Jorgenson has been significantly involved in systems modernization work at the department, including serving as the chair of the Integrated Service Delivery System Executive Steering Committee. In 2017, the department created the Children and Family Services Business Integration Division and hired Jorgenson as its inaugural director. 
 
“I’m excited to provide strategic direction, leadership, and support toward the development of programs and initiatives that are integral to support of the department’s vision of integrated service delivery,” Jorgenson said. “I’m very happy to be in this new role.”
 
During his tenure as Child Support Division director, Jorgenson served as the Region V representative on the National Council of Child Support Directors, where he was responsible for advocating for Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana Child Support departments. Jorgenson was also a member of both the National Child Support Enforcement Association and the Minnesota Family Support and Recovery Council. He has presented numerous keynote speeches and workshops on child support matters at the state and national level.
 
Jorgenson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mankato State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Metropolitan State University.
