Am I eligible?

You are eligible for MinnesotaCare if you:

  • Live in Minnesota.
  • Meet the income limits.
  • Lack other health insurance options. (If your job offers you health insurance, you may still qualify if the insurance from your job is too expensive for you.)
  • Meet U.S. citizenship or immigration requirements. To qualify you must be either:
    • A U.S. citizen or U.S. national,
    • A Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals grantee, also known as DACA or a Dreamer,
    • A person who is lawfully present, or
    • An undocumented child younger than 18.

If you are pregnant: Medical Assistance is available to any pregnant person regardless of immigration status and for 12 months after giving birth.

If you need insulin: You may be eligible for low-cost insulin through the Minnesota Insulin Safety Net Program.
