Minnesota’s Adult Protective Services

Safety and dignity for adults who are vulnerable to abuse, neglect and exploitation

Remember: it is important to report ALL suspected abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. It’s very possible the person you are concerned for may be reluctant or unwilling to tell others what happened to them. They may need to know that people care, and help is available.

One call can make a difference

The process is designed to find positive solutions

It’s natural to be concerned that calling might actually cause even more problems for the individuals involved. There are specialized services in place for each unique situation to best help those affected. Be aware that law enforcement will be notified if a crime may be involved.

Be the one who makes a difference

As Minnesotans, we look out for each other. It’s why the Minnesota Department of Human Services and other state agencies, along with counties and communities across the state, work to promote safety and well-being for all. But you can’t solve every problem by yourself. That’s why we’re here, doing our best to help make sure those in need are safe and supported.

If you suspect something is wrong, speak up. One conversation could change someone’s life.
