Learn how to report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult or child, and call 911 if someone is in immediate danger.

Vulnerable adults

If you know or suspect that a vulnerable adult is in immediate danger, call 911. Additionally, all reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable adult should be called into the Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) at 844-880-1574, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Reporting maltreatment of vulnerable adults

Children

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. If the child is not in immediate danger, use the contact information below to report suspected maltreatment, abuse, or neglect.

Child care centers licensed or certified by the state

Call the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families Intake Unit at 651-539-8222.

Family child care and child foster care

Call the child protection agency in the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives.

Child Safety and Family Preservation

Facilities licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services

Call the Intake Unit at 651-431-6600.
