Minnesota Medicaid Advisory Committee and Beneficiary Advisory Council
The Minnesota Department of Human Services wants to hear from people who use Medicaid, families, caregivers, health care providers, counties, health plans, Tribal partners, and community partners.
Minnesota is creating two groups:
- The Medicaid Advisory Committee, or MAC, gives advice about Minnesota Medicaid. In Minnesota, Medicaid is also called Medical Assistance.
- The Beneficiary Advisory Council, or BAC, is a group for people who use Medicaid, family members, and caregivers. The BAC helps make sure Medicaid decisions include the voices of people who use the program.
These groups help DHS learn what is working, what is not working, and how Medicaid can better serve people in Minnesota.
What the MAC does
The MAC gives advice to DHS about Medicaid programs and services and includes people with different views and life experiences. This may include people who use Medicaid, caregivers, advocates, providers, counties, health plans, Tribal and urban Indian partners, and community organizations.
What the BAC does
The BAC is centered on people who use Medicaid to give feedback to DHS and to the MAC. BAC members help DHS understand what Medicaid is like in real life.
