Find a dentist for my child

Find dentists who accept Minnesota Health Care Programs coverage.

If your child is not a health plan member

You can take your child to any dentist who accepts MHCP fee-for-service coverage.

  • If your child has coverage through Minnesota Health Care Programs but is not enrolled in a health plan, you can look for dentists near you in the MHCP provider directory.
    1. Select Dental from the main menu. Click Next.
    2. On the next page, select the sub-type of dentist you are looking for and enter your ZIP code or county. A dentist who works mostly with children is a pedodontist. A dentist who works with all ages (including children) is a general practice dentist.
  • You can also call Health Care Consumer Support.

If your child is a health plan member

If your child is enrolled in a health plan for their Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare coverage, you can find a dentist for them by calling your health plan's dental member services line.
