Adult mental health resources are available from many sources, including state and federal agencies, nonprofits and advocacy groups. These services may include crisis help, treatment options, peer support, housing and employment supports and help understanding your rights. If you are in immediate danger, call 911; if you need urgent mental health support, call or text 988.
Emergency services
Emergency services are available on a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week basis for people having a psychiatric crisis, a mental health crisis, or emergency. A directory of mental health crisis phone numbers in Minnesota lists all crisis providers by county. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a toll-free number: 800-273-TALK (8255).

Minnesota Board of Social Work
The Minnesota Board of Social Work is an independent state agency. The Board of Social Work holds social workers accountable by ensuring that licensed social workers are qualified, professional, ethical, and accountable. It does this initially through the examination and licensure process and, on an ongoing basis, by license renewal: continuing education: supervision requirements to ensure continued competence: and through the complaint resolution process when professional standards are not met.
