- Leadership and Supervision: Directly oversee the Merit System team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team performance and development. Successfully led workplace conflict resolution and managed large-scale HR projects, collaborating with other HR personnel and business partners to achieve organizational goals.
- Strategic Planning and Advisory: Engage in leading strategic planning for the Minnesota Merit System, Department of Human Services (DHS), and Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) projects. Advise county partners on employee performance issues, including counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations, in alignment with collective bargaining agreements (CBA) and relevant regulations.
- HR Consultation and Training: Provide expert HR consultation and training to managers, supervisors, and county partners on various aspects of labor, staffing, and performance management. Implemented a bi-monthly "Lunch and Learn" training session for Merit County personnel, enhancing professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Communication and Branding: Develop and distribute a monthly newsletter to county partners, featuring updates on law changes, diversity articles, and other relevant content. Lead the branding initiative for the Merit System, including the design of a new logo, LinkedIn page, print materials, and website to distinguish it from core DHS functions.
- Incident Management: Skilled in conducting thorough investigations into employee misconduct and harassment issues, handling sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Reorganize labor in response to changing business needs, adhering to union contracts and Federal and State requirements.
