Child care systems transformation underway
The Minnesota Department of Human Services has begun an initiative to improve and integrate the information technology systems used for the licensing, certification, and Child Care Assistance Program registration of child care providers. In April provider and agency hubs for certified child care programs, which will eliminate current paper-based processes and create a more efficient and user-friendly experience, were launched. Background study documents accessible online
Background study subjects can access most of their notices and documents electronically through the NETStudy 2.0 Applicant Data Entry Portal or Applicant Portal. This paperless option securely stores documents electronically so study subject scan access them any time and eliminates sending most documents through standard mail. Three oversight functions
Together we promote the health, safety and well-being of Minnesota children and vulnerable adults.
Background studies
We help keep vulnerable people who receive health and human services safe. Background studies determine whether a person has committed a criminal or maltreatment act that would disqualify them from providing care.
Licensing
We license facilities that care for children, the elderly and vulnerable adults. We require providers to meet minimum standards of care and physical environment.
Program integrity
We work to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently by identifying and preventing provider and recipient fraud, waste and abuse in public programs administered by DHS.
